- 1 family-size box brownie mix for a 9×13-inch pan, plus ingredients to prepare
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups corn syrup
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecans chopped or whole
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
Prepare the brownie batter according to package directions and pour it into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes, or 10 minutes less than the full bake time listed on the box.
While the brownies bake, whisk together the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Stir in the pecans.
After the initial bake, remove the brownies from the oven and gently pour the pecan mixture over the top. Spread evenly with a spatula.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25–35 minutes, or until the pecan filling is set but still has a slight jiggle in the center.
Let the brownies cool completely at room temperature, about 1 hour.
Once cooled, cut into 20 squares. Serve and enjoy!
If a family-size brownie mix isn’t available, use two standard 8×8-inch brownie mixes and their listed ingredients.
For added texture, combine chopped and whole pecans in the topping.
For cleaner slices, chill the brownies briefly and cut with a sharp knife.
