- 2 large eggs
- 2 slices of bread thick-cut preferred
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking spray
- Optional Shredded cheese for topping
Spray the air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray and place the slices of bread inside.
Use the bottom of a glass to press an indent into the center of each slice, then press down the center with your fingers to deepen the well slightly.
Crack an egg into the indent of each bread slice. It’s fine if some egg white spills over the sides. Season with salt and pepper.
Air fry at 340°F (170°C) for 8 minutes.
(Optional) In the final minute of cooking, sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the egg if desired.
Carefully remove the egg toast using a spatula and serve immediately.
Customize with toppings like shredded cheese, diced avocado, or crumbled bacon.
For a runny yolk, reduce cook time by 1–2 minutes. For a firmer yolk, increase by 1–2 minutes.
Thick-cut bread holds the egg better and prevents sogginess.
