Ingredients

For the Cherry Simple Syrup:

  • 2 cups cherries pitted (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup sugar or monk fruit sweetener
  • ½ cup water

For the Latte:

  • ½ cup cold brew coffee or 2 shots chilled espresso
  • ½ cup vanilla almond milk such as Califia Farms
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla almond creamer such as Califia Farms
  • 2 –3 tablespoons cherry simple syrup adjust to taste
  • Ice

Instructions

Make the Cherry Simple Syrup:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cherries, sugar (or monk fruit sweetener), and water.
  • Simmer gently, stirring occasionally and pressing the cherries to release their juices.
  • Once the sugar has fully dissolved and the syrup has slightly thickened, remove from heat.
  • Strain the syrup into a resealable glass container, discarding the solids. Let it cool completely.

Make the Iced Latte:

  • Fill a glass with ice and add 2–3 tablespoons of the cherry syrup (or to taste).
  • Froth the almond milk and creamer together. If you don't have a frother, whisk or shake until combined and slightly foamy.
  • Pour the frothed milk mixture over the ice and syrup.
  • Top with cold brew coffee or chilled espresso.
  • Stir gently to combine and enjoy.

Notes

To enjoy this latte hot, skip the ice and use freshly brewed espresso.
Adjust the cherry syrup to match your desired sweetness.
The cherry syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
