Sauce
- 1/2 cup coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Stir Fry
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil or preferred cooking oil
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- 1- inch piece of ginger grated
- 1 head of cabbage thinly sliced (about 8 cups)
- 1/2 cup shredded carrot
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Green onion slices and sesame seeds for garnish
In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients and set aside.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the garlic and ginger, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the shredded cabbage, carrots, and prepared sauce. Cook, stirring, until the cabbage softens and the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
Serve warm, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Recipe Variations
Boost the veggies: Add bell peppers, broccoli, or even cubed sweet potatoes for extra nutrition.
Adjust the spice level: Increase the red pepper flakes for more heat or omit them for a milder dish.
